Visit Minden

Each year beginning around March 1 thousands of Sandhill Cranes migrate through the Minden area. Many other species of birds also travel through south central Nebraska stopping on or near the Platte River on their trips north or south. If you enjoy wildlife early spring is a great time to travel to Minden. While you are here you should also consider a trip to historic Fort Kearny Historical Park and to Fort Kearny State Recreation Area.

No trip to Minden is complete without spending at least one day at the Harold Warp Pioneer Village in Minden. This museum houses thousands of objects including depression glass, early airplanes, and antique farm machinery. One of the countries best collections of antique automobiles is on display at Pioneer Village.

The Minden Opera House on the north side of the downtown square is a must-see.

The community Country Club Golf Course (located a half mile north of the Pioneer Village), is an excellent nine-hole grass greens course and visitors are welcome. Bowling, miniature golf, and swimming are also available for tourists. Minden's three parks and two tennis courts are open for picnics and recreation.

Named "TheChristmas City", Minden's "Light of the Wolrd" pageant and lights will kindle in you an forgettable Christmas spirit.

You may view a map of Minden provided by Tiger Map Service.
